You will notice in the weeks to come the installation of four siren towers near the intersection of East Paul Dirac Drive and Pottsdamer Street, in front of FSU Research Building #1 and two within the Alumni Village Housing Complex. The goal is to have the sirens in place and fully functional by the end of Spring Break, March 12, 2010. H.R. 5819 The SBIR/STTR Reauthorization Act

Please click here to read information compiled by the Small Business Technology Committee (SBTC) concerning the SBIR/STTR Reauthorization Act that recently passed through the United States House of Representatives and will soon be voted on in the United States Senate. The bill, while is reauthorizes the funds for the SBIR/STTR grant program, drastically reduces the number of SBIR/STTR grants that will be awarded based on the changes in H.R. 5819. We are urging any interested parties to write to Florida's Senators, Senator Mel Martinez and Senator Bill Nelson, and ask them to work with the SBTC to make changes to H.R. 5819 that will ensure the program remains a viable option for Florida's researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs.
