The Bureau of Mining & Minerals Regulation is a division of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
This agency administers the laws and regulations related to the reclamation of mined land and the protection of water resources (water quality, water quantity and wetlands) at mines throughout Florida. The Bureau works with several mining land operations and also works with the permitting, compliance, enforcement, design, construction, operation and maintenance of phosphogypsum stack systems.

The Center includes: X-Pinch Plasma Laboratory, Carbon Based Material Laboratory, Ultrafast Spectroscopy Laboratory, Laboratory for Modern Fluid Physics, and Laser Remote Sensing Laboratory.

The Florida Center for Reading Research conducts

National High Magnetic Field Laboratory
